Join us as guest leader Christine Bowen from Bay Area Restoration Park (BARC) takes us on a leisurely interpretive walk on the loop around Bayfront Park. 2-3 km. Paved trail. Christine will update us on the issues and restoration projects that are happing in the area. Learn about the challenges of the Remedial Action Plan to help clean our harbour waters. Christine is very knowledgeable and you can ask all the questions you like about the wildlife including invasive species like Common Carp and Phragmites that live in the area and what steps are being taken to control them. Optional stop at Williams Cafe.
This is a paved path that can be tricky if snow or ice covered. Wear boots with icers and bring poles if you have them. It can be chilly by the bay so dress warm. Bring water and snacks. Cancelled in inclement weather. Registration not required but if you want to let me know you’re coming I can inform you if walk is cancelled. Come at 9:45 am for sign up and we’ll leave promptly at 10AM.
