May 2: The Art of Writing Memoir Online- Hamilton Public Library (hpl.ca)

May 9: The Art of Writing Memoir Online- Hamilton Public Library (hpl.ca)

The sessions will focus on writing and sharing our memories. We will discuss the art of writing memoir and review excerpts from published memoirs. We will also examine our own goals and strategies for writing memories.  Within each session, participants will answer writing prompts and will then be invited to read their work aloud.

It is encouraged that participants take part in both sessions.

The writing memoir group will be facilitated by Ellen Ryan, Professor Emeritus in the Department of Health, Aging and Society. Ellen’s research examines how to foster resilient aging through the decades –from the young old to the oldest old. Throughout her career, she has focused on ageism, disability, and life stories. She currently hosts the website on Writing, Aging and Spirit: www.writingdownouryears.ca
