Writing in Later Life: Legacy Letters

Dates: Monday May 4 & Monday May 11
Time: 1:00-3:00pm
Location: ONLINE
Co-Sponsors: Hamilton Aging in Community, McMaster Gilbrea Centre for Studies in Aging & Ancaster Library

Our former Governor General David Johnston wrote letters which “recognize, applaud and build on the positive” across generations.  Let’s learn to write these legacy letters too.

Writing Legacy Letters is a strategy for passing on family stories and life lessons learned. We will discuss examples of legacy letters, reasons for writing them, and specific components of well-written letters.  Within each session, participants will respond to writing prompts and be invited to read their work aloud.

Participants are encouraged to take part in both sessions.

To Register, please visit https://events.hpl.ca/event/4272957. Sessions are open – you are welcome to join in at the last minute.
