What an absolutely wonderful time HAC older adults and McMaster students had this past week at the McMaster Museum of Art! We spent the afternoon exploring various behind-the-scenes artworks from artists between the late 15th century all the way to our present day. The group learned about different art styles such as pencil sketching, prints, etching, sculpting and much more! Artists that were featured in our tour included Käthe Kollwitz, Shellie Zhang, members of the Group of Seven, and many others as well. The museum is much more than meets the eye, with multiple floors of exhibitions, and multiple archival spaces that store some of the most beautiful pieces inside its walls. This event would not have been possible without the help of the McMaster Museum of Art, and we are so grateful to have had the chance to learn about some of the finest pieces of art housed at the museum!
