Great news on affordable housing from Langford, BC.
The Regional Housing First Program has just completed a new housing project that includes 120 affordable units. Twelve of the units are accessible and 24 will be rented for $375 a month, the amount the provinces provides for housing assistance
Saanich Councilor, Colin Plant, who chairs the CRD (Capital Regional District) board, said
“The goal is to build 2,000 units, including 400, or 20 per cent, that will rent at the provincial assistance rate, while another 31 per cent will be affordable units and 49 per cent will be rented at near-market rates.”
I ask you, what would Hamilton look like with these kinds of projects on the go?
